In a study conducted by GLS Research, it was found that the number of people who gamble at land-based casinos has declined, while online gambling has seen a steady increase in business. This study shows that visitors to Las Vegas are gambling less and budgeting more. Conversely, there has been a surge of online casino gambling due to the amount of savings players can realized by not having to book air and hotel accommodations to land-based casinos. While one can base these assessments on the current economy, nonetheless, the fact that online casinos offer welcome bonuses and other promotions has fueled the “gambling” fire for most online players who despite the UIGEA Law, have increased their presence at online casinos.
